1) I use Castrol Syntec and am very satisifed with it. I get it cheaper by the case from Costco.

2) The valve asjustment needs to be made on a cold engine, sat long enough to be about 70° all the way through. There are 2 times the engine is at TDC, you need to make sure both valves are in the free position when you adjust them. Exhaust is has a larger clearance than intake. Mine haven't seemed to move in the 6k miles I owned it, was a used 96.

3) be careful when reusing the o-rings and make sure they don't leak on you. Max
